Assistant Accounting Manager

US Anesthesia Partners is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager for our team in Dallas, TX. The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions to ensure that monthly financial statements are properly recorded. To review period-end journal entries and perform analytical review procedures during the monthly close and the reconciliation of the various balance sheet accounts thereafter. Approximately 20% of the month is devoted to journal entries and close procedures with 30% devoted to account reconciliations and 50% is devoted to special projects and leading your employees. The candidate is responsible for functional accounting tracks (Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.) and will supervise and lead between one to five people. Job Highlights Review a high volume of journal entries and operational transactions for multiple practices during a compressed monthly close (medium to high complexity determined by level of materiality or high-risk accounts) Review a high volume of balance sheet account and operational reconciliations for multiple practices (medium to high level of complexity determined by level of materiality or higher risk accounts) Ensure compliance with internal controls and support the assessment/design of control procedures and related documentation Manage and be the subject matter expert for one or more functional accounting areas (Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.) Develop recurring/ad hoc reporting and perform analysis of data including key metrics of operations to support planning Maintain a thorough understanding of USAP's financial information systems and business processes, including Workday, and possesses the ability to analyze and interpret data results Handle confidential material on a regular basis and is responsible for protecting the confidentiality of such information Participate in leading accounting on special projects and continuous improvement cycles within guidelines from leaders, including acquisitions and standardization/process improvement initiatives Support audit requests including walkthroughs with external and internal auditors Build and develop with peer departments and work as a team to problem solve Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Supervise, train and lead up to five employees on a day-to day basis Prepare and communicate performance reviews to your employees Qualifications Education/Licensing/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required CPA a plus
Experience:
5-8 plus years of accounting experience General Ledger or Corporate accounting preferred Workday Financial or other ERP system experience preferred Healthcare experience a plus Shared service or corporate accounting experiences a plus Proficient Financial Software, Microsoft suite (Outlook, Teams, etc.), specifically in Excel (VLOOKUP's, SUMIFs), are required Knowledge and Skills:
Must possess analytical abilities, including the ability to identify issues, problems, and solutions. Must possess mathematical aptitude, including the ability to build formulas for performing analysis. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Must possess the ability to work independently with staff, physicians, auditors, valuation teams and external customers. Meet deadlines and demonstrate solid professional judgment. Ability to work virtually and in Dallas based office. Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and systems preferred. Knowledge of office management practices and accounting procedures. Skill in gathering and reporting information. As this opportunity can be remote, interested candidates should reside in the states that USAP is incorporated to do business in. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
