Description Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Professional Engineer with experience leading solid waste-related projects to add to our Environmental Services Engineering team. As part of the Environmental Services Practice, this position will support the development and growth of our solid waste and resource recovery business practice. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and have the following
Experience:
Planning, permitting, design, and site development of solid waste facilities as a project engineer and/or project manager. Execution of biogas feasibility studies, process design development, mass and energy balances, and equipment procurement packages Leachate treatment feasibility, design, construction administration, and system operation including emerging contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. Planning and analysis for solid waste programs including, but not limited to, financial studies, procurement assistance, waste characterization, education and outreach, zero waste studies, and long-range strategic plans. Understanding of the solid waste industry and demonstrated ability to monitor and communicate new market drivers and regulatory changes. Executing civil engineering methods and practices in the preparation of bid-ready engineering designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports Supporting civil and environmental projects which may include earthwork, stormwater, wastewater, remediation, and restoration Using design programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation, etc. Other duties, as assigned. Duties may also include:
Managing accuracy, budgets, cost-estimating, quality, safety, reporting, schedule, and client expectations Supporting a wide variety of remediation, environmental compliance and sustainability related engineering projects in addition to solid waste projects. Internal and External Oral Presentations. Training / Mentoring staff. Developing new and maintaining existing client and regulatory relationships. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering program from an accredited university Minimum 7 years of related professional experience required PE license 40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred Excellent communication skills:
verbal and technical writing Available for project-related and marketing travel, as needed
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Construction & Real Estate, Civil Engineering, Environmental EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
