Sr. Network Engineer (72816)

Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION
BA/BS in Information Systems or related area required. Equivalent education and/or ten or more years experience in network engineering in a Cisco environment. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of seven years experience in the operation/design of communications networks with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies. Extensive experience with MPLS and Virtual Private Networks utilizing IPSec technology. Proven engineering-level experience with LAN protocols including, but not limited to: IP, DHCP, DNS, EIGRP, BGP. Experience with design and operational aspects of telecommunications technologies including ISDN, T1, T3 circuits. Strong experience with frame relay, MPLS and IPSec VPN technologies. Previous design experience with Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI) desirable.

Description:
Responsible for planning, design, configuration, testing, installation, and management of all WANs and related services within the enterprise to meet business requirements. Responsibilities include fourth level escalation in the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to the LAN/WAN component decisions that are critical in the areas of problem solving and infrastructure planning. Ensures a stable performance environment for all WAN components
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Engineering
Fourth Level support
Conducts research, evaluations, develops recommendations and conducts testing related to emerging technologies.
Prepares and delivers presentations to management
Provides inputs to management for the establish of departmental goals and objectives of the department
Participates in weekly Engineering team meetings
Serves as a member of the Technical Advocates Group
Serves as a consultant of the Quality Control Committee
Designs wide-area communications network solutions in response to functional requirements
Works on multiple simultaneous projects to implement new technologies and configurations
Responsible for validation of proposed network solutions and integration methodologies
Contributes technical input for the architecting and designing of the Emerson network
Serves as technical consultant to divisional network projects
Serves as an ad-hoc representative of engineering management in various technical meetings
Maintains appropriate lab environment and testing facilities
Provides fourth level support for help desk and service providers in troubleshooting and resolution of networking issues.
Facilitate and/or troubleshoot network related issues between multiple vendors and providers
Provides on-call support for operational issues
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
